I'm not sure, but I think the apartment is trying to vex me. Some of you have heard the story where I fell asleep while i was trying to pee. Completely understandable on the one hand, but might be some sinister influence from beyond?
Now I'm without any meaningful electricity for some time. It started last Tuesday with a complete blackout and my only contact to the landlord was via a less than helpful ex employee. My friendly neighbor found a working phone number after some rummaging. The landlord (who is barely comprehensible) promised immediate help, which consisted of some guy coming over, poking at the fuse and promising even more help on the morrow. There was talk about an electrician.
Wednesday came, and with it no power whatsoever. I called again and got the good news. No electricity as such, but there will be a friendly employee here in a few minutes with the keys to a different apartment. Just in case I need one with light and warm water and similar trifles. Also they would provide me with *some* power at least, which would be very welcome, because they electrician discovered some , I didn't understand anything due to his dialect. But it means that I couldn't be back on the grid before Monday, Tuesday latest.
Thurday, I got my power back. In form of a power cord through my open bedroom window and a random collection of extension leads. This means I will either burn one night or die of the cold, cold Bavarian summer nights. Friday night brought single digit temperatures. Luckily neither will happen, because I cant sleep with all that noise. If it is not a lorry or bus on the cobble stone street below my window, it is a plane starting a few hundred meters from my place. One would think that I go tired to work with all that lack of sleep. But no worries. The ice cold showers do help.



We have Tuesday now, and I sit here in candle light, plotting the demise of my new enemy. I had to call him and ask why i still have no power. He was somewhat unapologetic about the situation. Said the electrician was there but needs to be back because of (I'm sure he mumbles on purpose). He promised it would be solved by tomorrow noon. But (I quote) "You never know with electricians, hahaha"

I have not much hope left...The worst thing is that I can't even withhold rent - cause I dont pay any.

return true;
}

ought to have the same effect as:

return (taste =! 13)

and this shouldn't work:

if(taste==13)
{return (taste =! 13)}

(I dropped the else branch)

What do I miss?

Since this is a breeding pool for internet meme, I am sure someone can find me a few silly but harrmless lists. I need the questions and answers in a list. CSV or plain text preferred. Multilingual would be ideal, but I don't expect you can find that easily.

They repaired my car, it runs again! It All in all 1300€ to repair a 1600€ car, but I have to suck it up.
Anyways, I am happy and the Autobahn is no longer a safe place :D

Now I need a flying car  ;)

While I hate, hate; hate the cold,I feel like a child watching the snow. Of course, I watch it from indoors, but I may decide to go outside and feel a few snowflakes on my skin.

Yesterday I arrived half an hour before the train company stopped traffic. I thought, I had won, but they only lured me into a false sense of security.
I checked every website, listened to the radio and watched tv. There was no news about traffic problems. (At least no more then you would expect after a storm). But it started with one hour delay in Lünen. They announced the delay, and I was okay with it. At least I would arrive. But then Dortmund. Nothing moved. No updates and no information about the route conditions. I spend my time chatting with people, who were stuck for the whole night.
But after 3 hours of freezing, I had enough. I called my employer. He wasn't exactly surprised, but the stupid radio stations still weren't announcing the huge traffic problems. He expected me to come to work, but I could convince him, that there was no solution in sight and gave me the day off.
So I spent my Friday freezing at Dortmund central station - it still beats work, I guess.

Hey, I installed a jabber plug-in for my miranda. Now I can post on my livejournal from within my instant messenger. That will be so usefull

Hmm, I am not much of a talker and I guess nobody will ever read this, but an empty LJ is a sad, sad thing.

I opened a new chapter in my life, lets wait and see. It's to new to start talking about it (and probably not that exciting) but I mark the day at least. I wonder if I should move - it is probably too early.
